Art Therapy
Art therapy is a therapeutic practice that uses creative expression to help individuals explore emotions, reduce stress, and foster self-awareness. Through various forms of artistic creation—such as drawing, painting, or sculpting—clients can communicate and process feelings that may be difficult to express verbally. This approach can be particularly beneficial for personal growth and healing, as it encourages introspection and emotional release in a safe, non-judgmental space.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences and distressing memories. By using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR allows the brain to reprocess painful memories in a way that reduces their emotional impact. This evidence-based approach can be effective in alleviating symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related conditions, fostering emotional resilience and well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. By focusing on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and actions, CBT empowers clients to develop healthier coping strategies and make positive life changes. This evidence-based approach is widely used to address a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and stress, promoting greater emotional balance and resilience.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, is a type of therapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices to help individuals manage intense emotions and improve relationships. Originally developed for those experiencing chronic emotional distress, DBT teaches skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. This approach is especially helpful for people struggling with mood disorders, impulsivity, or self-destructive behaviors, fostering balance and resilience.
Gender-affirming and LGBTQIA+-affirming Mental Health Care
Gender-affirming and LGBTQ+-affirming counseling provides a supportive, inclusive space where individuals can explore their identities without judgment. This approach recognizes and respects clients’ unique experiences related to gender, sexuality, and the challenges they may face, including discrimination and internalized stigma. By offering validation and understanding, affirming counseling helps clients build self-acceptance, resilience, and confidence in living authentically.
Parts Work or Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS), or parts work, is a therapeutic approach that helps individuals understand and heal the different “parts” of themselves that influence thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In IFS, clients explore inner conflicts by identifying distinct parts—such as protectors, exiles, and the core Self—working toward greater harmony and self-compassion. This gentle, non-pathologizing approach is especially beneficial for healing trauma, improving self-awareness, and fostering inner balance.
